Iron Man 3 Title Sequence Timeline

This is my timeline for Iron Man 3 which lasts a total of 2.40. It starts of by telling you who the directed, did the screen play and who the executive producers are. It carries on listing the other members of the production team until 1.20 where it starts to tell you who the cast are. I think this is because people tend to know the names of actors more than the producers etc so by putting them first it means people are more likely to begin to recognise these people names. Also by putting the actors in the middle of the title sequence it grabs the audiences attention as they will recognise the names and look more at what is happening. This is effective because it then means that the audience is paying attention when the studio names start rolling which is good for branding/publicity and sales e.g if it is a high budget film (which you can tell from the studio it was produced with) some people are more likely to watch it and buy into merchandise.   Finally at 2.37 the title of the film "IRON MAN THREE" is displayed. I think this is done so that the name of the film is more memorable which will help sales as you are more likely to buy something if you know the name of the product.

All the way through out the title sequence we see images of iron man in different scene, attempting different, sometimes dangerous looking things. From around 1.20 we start to see pictures of the cast, this coincides with the credits and helps you put a face to the name, while also introducing you to the character the actor will be taking on.

  1. Well done for commenting on the arrangement of the titles, with reasons for why you think they appear where they do. Would you say that the arrangement of titles is conventional a) to a film opening in general and b) to thriller openings?
